Nerf Barrel Break IX-2 Blog Review!

This is the blog review of the Barrel Break IX-2! This blaster was released in fall of 2010, along with the Alpha Trooper CS-18 and the Spectre REV-5. It is a Toys R Us exclusive and is sold for $29.99 USD. The Barrel Break is special for being Nerf's only shotgun(until the Rough Cut) and for being able to shoot two darts at once. It has a break open priming system and can hold two darts inside the chamber with the double barrels. The Barrel Break comes with the gun itself, an ammo rail, 10 whistler darts, and instructions.

Let's first talk about the ammo rail that the Barrel Break comes with. It is the perfect size for the Barrel Break's tactical rail and can hold up to 8 of most kinds of darts. The ammo rail is good for guns with lower capacity because you can reload faster and easier. This works well with the Barrel Break because it only holds two darts at a time.

 Ammo Rail... Awesome

Now I'm going to show you how to reload this gun. There is a lever above the trigger that you have to push down.

Pull Down on Orange Lever...

After you click the lever, the orange barrel in the front should pop out. Pull that all the way forward.
Orange Part Pulled Forward

Okay, now you push the orange part down until the arrows line up. You may hear a breaking sound. Don't worry, nothing is wrong.

Now just stick your two darts in. Any kind of dart work in the Barrel Break(note that streamlines shoot about 10 ft.).

Pull the Barrel Break's priming mechanism back up and push it back to its original position. There have been problems saying that the Chamber is stuck open like this, but all you have to do is push down and then lift the mechanism back up. Now you're ready to fire. The first firing mode is single shot mode. Pull the trigger halfway and you'll fire one dart. Then pull the trigger all the way to fire the second dart. The second firing mode is double shot mode. Pull the trigger all the way at the beginning to fire two darts at once.

At the back of the blaster you can tell if the blaster is primed or not. If there is this orange plunger tube visible that means that the blaster is already primed.
